Nestled in the vibrant SW Waterfront community, Amidon-Bowen is home to nearly 350 students in PreK3 – 5th grade.

We are a community school that values families as partners. Support and partner organizations such as Edgewood-Brookland Collaborative, Flamboyan, and Kindred have helped foster a diverse community school built on authentic relationships among students, staff members, family, and community members.
Given that Amidon-Bowen is the closest DCPS elementary school to the National Mall and its world-class museums, we believe it’s important that students are able to explore these treasures in their own backyard. Students at Amidon-Bowen have many field trips each year to the museums on the Mall to explore and enhance their learning in the classroom.
